Wilhelm RAMSPERGER/Rosa MILLER-Johanna KUNKEL, Annie KNOX, Rosa BAKER BICHMANN
TYPO IN SUBJECT - my apologies. Want this searchable...
I posted earlier, but have found new information in old Poughkeepsie Newspapers:
I am looking for more information on Josephina Ramsberger. She is my Great Great Grandmother who came from Germany (1860 census says she is about 25 born in Prussia), the town I do not know. In about 1856 she married Bernhard Schamberger of Hofheim, Kingdom of Bavaria, Germany. He had been living in Poughkeepsie for about 20 years. She had Theodore, Elizabeth, Rosa, William and Julia. She died soon after Julia's birth in 1870.
I am looking for information, family and ancestors of Josephine Ramsperger (Ramsberger in some records of her).
Her brother was Wilhelm Ramsperger, he is known in Poughkeepsie as William Ramsperger in a few public records.
If I could find William's family, perhaps then I could learn more about Josephina as well, her parents, and where she comes from as I have hit a wall here and do not know much about her.
Wilhelm came from Prussia, he married Rosa Miller, also from Germany. They were in Poughkeepsie by the time of the birth of their first child in 1854. Perhaps he is the son of Fridrich Ramsperger and Marta Oswald, which states: Wilhelm Ramsperger
Gender: Male
Birth: 19 JUN 1826 Benzingen, , , Wuerttemberg which I believe is in Prussia, barely, being on a finger of land that protrudes into another section of Germany (Baden?).
Wilhelm's calculated birth date from his obituary is June 18, 1857, so that is coincidentally close to this record, but no proof.
Wilhelm and Rosa had 6 children:
Francis Edward (Eddie) May 1860 - September 3, 1879, age 19.
Rosa June 27, 1865 - December 9, 1935. Married first, Edward John Baker (or John Edward). They had a "Baker's Bottled Products" and sold among other sweet drinks, bottled mineral water, in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh, New York. They moved to Newburgh where Mr. Baker died, date unknown, and she remarried Hermann Bichmann, date unknown. I do not believe she had any children.
Annie b. about 1866. I do not have any more on Annie but believe she is the daughter who married J. Knox and lived in San Antonio, Texas.
If anyone recognizes these names and would like to share family history here and ancestry in Germany, I would be happy. I can share some more details that I found in records and Poughkeepsie newspaper archives to fill you in as well.
