Hi Cousin,
If the James, William wrote to, was James Marion Ramey, the father was Owen Bryan Ramey (b. in VA) and the mother was Elizabeth Strickler (b. in TN), (whose people lived in the village of Strickler south of Fayetteville in Washington Co., Arkansas). The Rameys had land on both sides of the White River. My sister drew up a map showing where their land was. Land Records would be on file at Fayettevile. There is also a fine Historical Society branch located in Fayetteville. I am James Marion Ramey's great grand daughter through his son William and Lucy Alice Coffman. My father was Lloyd Martin Ramey. Owen's children were all born in Washington Co., Arkansas. So were James Marion Ramey's children. However, My grandfather william Henry Ramey married Lucy in MO and raised all of his children near Springfield, MO. I'm western, born in Idaho. Iris
