Margret (RAMA) WALSTON is An Interesting Name!

I find the RAMA surname to be very interesting!
One of my paternal ancestors was Sir John WALSTON born 1629 in England who married Margaret RAMA.Sir John, Margaret and their childen sailed from Gravesend, England on 27July1664 aboard the Brigatine Primrose.
"They first landed in Bermuda (then known as the Summer Islands) then part of the Colony of Virginia in October 1664."John "had three small children and three slaves. From Bermuda they came to St. Marys in January 1665.HereLeonard CALVERT [Lord CALVERT] gave to Sir John WALSTON, a grant of land."
Rama is a name that is often from one of the Middle East countries such as Lebanon or Persha. Those people sailed to trade throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia hundreds of years before the Europeans. They probably were also sailors on some of the later European merchant ships such as the Portugese and Dutch that sailed to Formosa (Taiwan) and the Philippines. That may explain why my Filipino stepson's deceased father had the surname of Rama.
Markque Rama's father was a dark, brown-skinned Filippino, but was not a negro.Markque is an energetic and bright eleven year old boy.
