Thanks Joe for sharing your info on these fellows.
That helps. I have another ? for you. Do you have any dates on your early James from Henry Co Ind?
Did you by chance check the note on Benjamin & Susan I posted back on Sept 14, 2008 on this site from Benton co. Ark?
In the 1880 censusB.F. Ralston age 48 b. in VA living in War Eagle, Benton co. Ark, with wife Susan age 40 b. in PA& kids a son James b. in 1867 in Indiana
& a son Franklin Lee born in 1870 in Illinois.
They were in Ste Genevieve co Missouri in 1870 & 1860 in Hancock co VA (soon to become West Virginia area) where my Ralston's came from. Benjamin had a daughter in Ohio in 1863 then 3 kids in Missouri during 1872-76 then one in 1880 in Ark.
I had wondered if the Ralston men on the Draft cards might have been others I missed in the census.
I can't seem to find this Benjamin in 1900 census yet. He would have been abt 68 yrs old so maybe I should search for his kids in that census & look closer for them. I'm trying to figure out who his father was & hoped to maybe find an obituary or death cert for him. & I wondered if Benjamin had went to Indiana if he had distant or close cousins or family there?
One of the earlier Ralston' fellows from then Brooke co or Ohio Co. VA (same area just changed names over the years)
a Hugh Ralston went down the Ohio river to Monroe Co. Ind.
I lost him after 1840 but he had wife & kids & I'm trying to find out wife's name & kids names & his death place, etc. just checking all clues.
My Ralston lines had alot of Joseph's in them.
Thanks again for your help on your Ralston line in Benton County.
Happy trails,
Kim Ralston Dresser
