One other followup on your Samuel Ralston born c1800 of VA and Elizabeth Betsey Fritz line (couple md. on 20 Feb 1824 in Christian Co, KY).
There is a line out Augusta Co and Rockingham Co, VA, that might be related to yours. See Gordon Rolston's website

Look for #22 David Rolston who md. first Susannah Matthews and second Marcy Griffin. David ended up in Christian Co, KY. He seems to have had a son born c1800 who very well could be your Samuel Ralston born c1800 of VA.
You can see the "Samuel" name connection and you know that Samuel Ralston/Elizabeth Fritz named their first? son born c1826 "David."
