I remember hearing legends about William Hunter Ralph from
my Grandmother.I recall her telling me about this man who as I understand it was the first of many of the "virule"
and "frisky" Ralph men. He was an extremely handsome man, and as she later let on (out of ear-shot of my Grandfather)
quite the Dandy with the ladies. His rugged good looks combined with his charming wit, made him almost irresistible
with the ladies, and scorned by the men. It's my understanding that all the Ralph men still posess these very same traits. Legend has it that he came from the Dakotas, barely outrunning a Shot Gun wielding husband. Then after hooking up with members of the Bartlett & Larsen gang made their way West in search of "unconquered territories".It was there that William almost met his match after meeting one of the incomprably beautiful Ehler women in the Renton area.He then fled to the South all the way to the Mexican border (Jamul) where he later met, and was ultimately shot and killed by a member of the despicable Bevill / Nelson gang.
Some say his ghost still lives on, and on certain moonlit
nights you can still catch a glimpse of him riding off into
the night on his faithful Burro Cisco......
