Bill, the bulk of my research is based on the old note stuck to the back of the tintype.
Forrest. This is to be given to my little "Governor" Harold Raisor with his grand pop's love. His grandma Lydia had it in her keeping many years.B.J.R-
Assuming BJR was of marrying age in 1861, and Forrest married by age 20, the earliest Harold could have been born is about 1880.
I did get to the Genealogy Department of the Denver Library yesterday.Rechecked the roster of the 16th and 5th cavalry regiments of Pennsylvania; no Raisor.Checked the 1850 PA Census, found a Jacob T.Raizor in Chester County. In the 1860 Census he was gone, but there is a listing for a John Raisor in Chester County.Ran out of time, will have to return to search for their offspring.
