Charlene,
All that is documented so far is the will of John and
Mary (Fussell)Rainwater and their children. NO ONE has been able to find out who John,Jr married. His wife was
Susannah but her maiden name was NOT Bobo, which HAS been
proven over and over.He had been married before he married
Susannah but to who and when, no one has done the research
in North or South Carolina records to find out.
MOSES has not been proven to be this John's son. He did move from NC to Eastern Tenn when a bunch of Rainwater's left and moved west. Has anyone found any record or list of Moses children? When did he die? The records for Eastern
Tenn were lost or destroyed over time but surely some
record exists somewhere as to who they are.Census records
for that time period do not exist for Tenn.
Aaron Rainwater has NOT been proven to be the son of
Abraham. The children of Abraham have not been identified
yet. Has any will or probate records been found?Any land
records showing the final distribution of his estate? That
would generate a LOT of paperwork--plus tax records. Uncle
Sam isn't going to lose out on any taxes if he can help it.
The Chappell family seems to be well integrated
into the Rainwater family.According to the death certificate for Mary Isabella Rainwater who married Jacob
Bradley Davis--(Mary was Aaron and Polly's 8th child)her
mother Polly was Polly CHAPPELL. I think I posted this
fact on-line some time ago and so far I've seen no mention
of it being added to any database.
It's nice that you have customs and tradition's that have
passed down through the family---we all value them, believe me. But when you put it in print and put it online
as being the complete truth--someone who is just starting
doing their family history will come across this and say
"well, what do you know--someone has already done my work
for me and put it online. It must therefore be true--
BECAUSE IT IS ONLINE" And believe me, that's where this
person's research stop's.Just like the information that
this person printed "in a book" (therefore it must be true)
about the youngest children not belonging but actually belonged to someone else.
Hugh Rainwater is in NO way related to Aaron Rainwater's
family. His family came out of NC to Tenn, then down to
Ala then up to Ark. Research into these families in Tenn,
Ala and Ark give's all indication of being the children/
brother's, etc of John Rainwater and his wife Mary
Cunningham. That includes Colin Rainwater and his family.
I would say that anything before you started with John and
Mary (Fussell) Rainwater can be deleted, because it is all
supposition and wishful thinking on someone's part.In the
research field that's called "creating a generation" for
a record's purpose.
