Good day,
I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather G. W. Rainey who family history says was full blooded Cherokee. He was born in 1884 in GA to Annie Winters and William Wiley Rainey. The 1920 Census shows GW and his wife Janie Rainey (nee Wood) living in Hoppers, Etowah, Alabama, with their 5 daughters. One of the 5 daughters, Gertie Rainey, is my grandmother (Gertie Rainey Holley).
I have no information about Annie Winters or William Wiley Rainey except for the family lore that they are both full blood Cherokee.
If you have any information that can fill in the gaps, I'd appreciate it.
