Thanks for the reply...I think we may have a connection.
James Henry Howell(1812-1908) married Millie Rainer about 1837 in NC. By 1853 they were in Momtgomery AL.
Children include:
1)William D. Howell,b.1838,NC-m. Manura Laird
2)John Howell,b 1841,NC-m. Manura Laird
3)Sarah Howell, b 1845,NC
4)Mary Howell, b 1847,NC
5)Ann Howell, b1849 in NC
6)James Howell, b Jun 1851 in NC m. Arkansas M. Sweatte
7)Samuel A. Howell, b 5 Oct 5 1852 in NC m Mattie Sweatte
8)Porter Howell b 1853 in AL m. Alabama O. m. Cassie
9) Nancy Elizabeth m. Joseph James Knighten
10)Robert H Howell m. Mary O. McDowell

2nd wife of James H Howell + Martha Kirksey

This family came from Sampson and Wayne County NC.
Nancy Elizabeth (Howell) Knighten...my Great Grand mother.

I now live in Dothan..but grew up in Eufaula,Al.
