Hi I am seeking information on William Rain who lived in Oneida County, New York from about 1830 until his death in 1889. In 1850 he lived in Whitestown, Oneida County, New York and was 45 years old. He was a mason by trade, but later owned and operated a farm. He was married to Annetta ?. They had the following children living at home in 1850: 1. Mary Raine age 20 2. James B. Raine age 14 3. Samuel L. Raine age age 13 4. Annetta Raine age 11 5. William L. Raine age 8 6. Ellen K. Raine age 4 There may have been other children that were not living at home at this time. I'm looking for other family members and any information on this family. I am trying to find a connection between William Rain and my ggg grandfather James Raine. I believe that James and William were brothers. James Raine's father and mother were Richard Raine and Mary Walker of Yorkshire, England. Richard was a stone mason and he and his family emigrated from England to Quebec, Canada in about 1819. Richard died shortly after arriving in Canada in 1820. His four sons stayed on in Canada. They were John Raine, Richard Raine (also a stone mason), William and James. Can anyone help? I am also trying to track down Richard Raine--William and James' other brother. Like his father--Richard was also a stone mason. He married Elizabeth Jackson at Caldwell Manor in Quebec in 1828. I can find no other record of him after his marriage. I also have been unable to find a death or remarriage record for his mother Mary Walker Raine. Does anyone have any info???? Notify Administrator about this message?
