I have received Simeon Rainbow’s widow’s pension records from the National Archives and can confirm that Simeon Rainbow was, in fact, killed at Gettysburg on July 1, 1863, “by a musket ball” while serving with Company “C” 157th New York infantry.Simeon’s widow was Harriet M. Albro born December 3, 1834.They were married on July 3, 1851, in Truxton, NY and had five children:CHARLES A. RAINBOW, b. May 17, 1852; WILLIAM S. RAINBOW, b. November 12, 1853; MARY P. RAINBOW, b. July 25, 1855; AUGUSTA A. RAINBOW, b. July 22, 1858; ELMORE E. RAINBOW, b. February 22, 1861.This is the fifth time an Albro has become involved with the Jacobe family extended. It makes one dizzy!
