Ned, check your American history, you will find
Woodford Co., Ky. was in the state of Virginia until that whole area split off to become the state of Ky. This is very important to know because Thomas & several brothers: Charles, Isham, Randolph & William were living there according to the 1800 Woodford Co., Ky. Tax List.
My ancestor,Thomas Railey, lived at Clifton - named after his home he built on a cliff in 1790 on the east side of the Kentucky River. It is about 4 1/2 miles wnw of Versailles. His dgtr. Anne? Railey married Nimrod Peters,& they were my 3rd great-grandparents.
