Thomas Railey was the eldest son of John and Elizabeth Randolph Railey. Martin Railey (my ancestor) was the 5th born son of John and was born bet. 1747 and 1776 in Virginia. John Railey came to Jamestown, VA from Bristol, England in 1740. I do not have any information about Thomas other than in his will, John Railey left his "eldest son" 200 acres of land in Chesterfield Cty. Also in the will it states "my will further is that my son Isham should have a negro boy by the name of Frank which he now has in possession to learn the Carpenter's trade...". Isham was the 2nd born son of John Railey and was apparently a carpenter. The will is dated 11-4-1778. Perhaps your Thomas is the son of the Thomas stated here. I hope this is some help to you. Good luck in your search!
