1841 July 6, Montgomery Co. George Shankle and Oney, his wife, for $10.00, to Robert and Zedekiah Raiford the right of dower of Oney Shankle in lands of her former husband, James Raiford, both in Montgomery and Richmond County.
Died in Camden, Wilcox Co. AL., Feb. 24, Mrs. Oney Shankle, born in Montgomery Co., about the year 1781. Her parents were Zedekiah and Tabitha Ledbetter. She was married successively to James Rayford and George Shankle. In 1851, whe went to AR with her son, where she remained a couple of years. In April last, stopped to see sister in Camden.
