I've looked for the names that you mention in Wm Russell Raiford's book, THE HISTORY OF THE RAIFORD FAMILY, but I can't find anything on them. I also have Chase Raiford's eBook, METAMORPHIS SOUTHERN STYLe, and I'll look in it later (I have to go make my groceries). It would help us help you better if you would give us some locales. There were Raifords all over the south from 1700 on. Well, curiosity got the best of me, so I'll take a quick look for a few of them: Martha Grice didn't show up and Matthews abound, so I'll pass on him for now (Matthew, son of Philip "The Immigrant" Raiford, moved to NC in about 1700 and Matthew is a common name in the family). No Poythress listed. I'll have to continue this another time. Notify Administrator about this message?
