John Pearson married Mary Raiford b.c.1721 d. 7 Oct 1800 Fairdfield Co., SC, dau. of Philip Raiford and Martha ---------- of Richland County, SC, on 25 Apr. 1742. Their first child, John, Jr. was born 30 May 1743 and was possibly the first caucasian child born in Richland County. [SOURCE: THE HISTORY OF THE RAIFORD FAMILY by William Russell Raiford.]

John Pearson, Jr., married Sarah Raiford, b. 25 Aug 1745, dau. of Philip Raiford and Judith Weston 21 May 1765.

Mary Raiford was the granddaughter of Philip Raiford (William Russell Raiford calls Phillip Raiford "The Immigrant"), b. 1649 Crediton, Devonshire, England d. 1724 Isle of Wight County, VA, and Sarah Kinchen. Mary's father Philip is called the founder of the "South Carolina Raifords." I'm descended from that line. Philip "The Immigrant" Raiford/Wreyford was my 7great grandfather.

Sarah Raiford was daughter of Philp Raiford, "The Immigrant's" grandson.

I'll forward your message to a Raiford/Pearson family researcher, along with your posted email address.
