Pleasant M. Ragsdale born in 1831 in Hickman Co., TN, migrated to the bootheel of MO between 1880-1900. Sarah F. Burch, his wife, died between 1900 & 1910. Pleasant is on the 1910 census in a home for the aged. He died in 1913 and there is a death certificate that can be accessed on line from Missouri Vital Records. Robert L. Ragsdale, probably his son, was the informant for the personal information listed on the certificate. He gives Pleasant Ragsdale's father as Elzahan Ragsdale from Scotland.
Page 259 of the 1830 Hickman Co., TN, U.S. census, lists a Elizathan Ragsdale as a head of household. This is evidently the same as Elzahan.
The Burches are my direct line. But I would be happy to exchange any information I have on the Ragsdales.
