Todd County Kentucky Ragers - HHT

Hi.

Some of the more recent Ragers of Todd County are victims of a hereditary disease called Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). It has to do with the structure of the arteries and veins, particularly in the lips, ears, noses, mouths, lungs, and brain.

In the late 60's a couple of young doctors were visiting KY doing research. I think they were interns, not sure. Anyway, they did a genealogy of the Ragers to research the disease, and they published an article in the Kentucky Journal of Medicine afterward.

I will post both the genealogy and the article, since I have them both in my possession.

Perhaps this will be interesting to the KY Ragers and associated families.

Note: HHT is a disease that has a few web sites. You can look up the grisly details on the net if you want.
