Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clok in the Bowserdale Evangelical Church for William W. Rager, 76, West Taylor Township resident who died yesterday morning in Memorial Hospital.Rev. A.F. Richards, pastor will be in charge.Burial will take place in the Benshoff Hill Cemetery, under the direction of S.J. Conway & Son.Mr. Rager was employed by the Haws Refractories Company until his retirement about eight years ago.He was born in Johnstown, a son of Martin and Rebecca (Adams) Rager.His wife, Mrs. Rachel (Ribblett) Rager, died 13 years ago.Surviving Mr. Rager are the following children:Elmer, married to the former Catherine Rummel;Charles, married to the former Elda Rummel;Minnie, wife of William Burkhart;Irwin, married to the former Edna Irvin;Ethel, wife of Joseph Rice;Ira, married to the former Catherine Shuster;and Harry Rager, all of West Taylor Township.Thirty-one grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survives.Three daughters and two sons are deceased.The remains are at the Harry Rager home.

Mrs. Rachel A. (Echels) Rager, 62, wife of William W. Rager of Bowserdale, West Taylor Township, died of pneumonia yesterday noon at her home, where she had been ill for some time.She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Eckels and was married to Mr. Rager in Ebensburg Dec. 20, 1886 by Justice Kinkead.Mrs. Rager is survived by her husband and the following children:Elmer L., Charles E., Harry W., Hazel N., Ira M., and Irvin M. Rager, Mrs. Minnie Burkhart, Mrs. Ethel S. Rice, all of Bowserdale.Four children preceded their mother to the grave:William J., Flora G., Lawrence E. and Mary R. Rager.Mrs. Rager was a sister to Mrs. Delilah N. Bush, Mrs. Rebecca S. Davis and Mrs. Laura E. Mitchell, all of Bowserdale.She also was a sister of late Jonathan Eckles and Mrs. Nancy E. Adams.She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.She was a charter member of the P.A.L. and was cradleroll superintendent of the Bowserdale Evangelical Sunday school.Funeral services will be conducted at the Bowserdale church by Rev. Zigler, pastor.Interment, Benshoff Cemetery.
