I found the following in some records from Westmoreland County.The names are the same, but the dates are different.Hope they are of some help:
Zachariah Regan - Greene Co, Pennsylvania
Zachariah Ragan was a Sergeant in Co F, 85th Pennsylvania, mustered in 10/16/1861.He was recruited in Greene Co, and mustered out in 11/22/1864.The regiment was in the Peninsula Campaign, and was not actively engaged in the Seven Days.They were shipped to New Bern, North Carolina, and were at Ft Gregg.They were in the Army of the James.
In 1872, Zachariah C Ragan started a newspaper in Greene Co, called the Waynesburg Independent.A vanity biography of the county, written in the '80s, said that he had all of the company papers from the Civil War in a box behind his desk.
David Buchanan, of Greene Co, Pa, no dates given.He had three brothers:Andrew, John, and J.A.J.He had 5 sisters:Elizabeth, married William McClelland
Martha, married Zachariah Ragan, a Methodist Minister
Harriet, married Elijah Adams
Rachel, married J N Brown
A will in Beaver Co, Pa, dated April 1828, of Zachariah Ragan of Little Beaver Twp.His widow is Mary Regan.He has ten kids, 3 under 14:Mary C, Lucia B, Polly.John Saviers and Mary Regan are guardians.k
Colin Regan is a minor over 14, William Espy is his guardian.
