Thanks for your message and for the work you have done. It seems odd that Martha's maiden name was Loft and Timothy also had the name Loft! Were they cousins?

My thoughts on the Raffield connection are:
1. She had been married before to someone called Raffield.
2. There is a connection further back in either the Loft family or the Cook family.

The most famous Cook from Yorkshire was Captain James Cook who came from Whitby.
