Hi,
I'm looking for information about the Raffertys from Carrickmore. Owen Rafferty, born abt1868, his father Patrick (possibly married to Margaret McMullen?) and Owens daughter Rose AnneRafferty born 1888. Rose Anne married Michael Ruddy 1910 in the RC Ch. Parish Of Termonmaguirk (Rose Anne and Michael had Margaret Ellen Ruddy in 1911, Patrick Ruddy 1912 and John Francis in 1916.
John Francis Ruddy was born in Munderrydoe, he travelled across to Thornaby / Stockton and married the Grandaughter of a Mary Rafferty (! confused yet?) Mary Rafferty was born in Thornaby in 1860, her father Patrick born abt 1835 (census simply states Ireland) married Mary Ann O'Rourke in Monkton Durham in 1857, witnessed by Hugh Rafferty (his brother?)
I wonder if Rose Anne perhaps sent her Grandson John Francis to stay with 'her' relatives in Durham ... this being so I'm (praying) hopeful that both 'sets' of Raffertys are extended Family as it would simplify matters a bit. I have Patrick and Mary Anns Marriage Cert but unfortunatly it doesn't give details of their Fathers' names or occupations so yet again I have come to a dead end.
If anybody can help in any way it would be fantastic not to mention really great to perhaps find a link within the tree!
