The purpose of this message is to share information. I am not related to the family. I purchased an 1880s photo album that has photos from the family of John Rae. The family is on the 1881 Census of England and are residing at 72 Birm Road, Oldbury, Worcester England. John Rae was born 1844 Scotland, his wife Eliza Allen Rae born 1845 Scotland, Robert Rae 12 b. Worcester England, Theadore Mury Rae 11, b. Worcester, Alfred Gavin Rae 7 b. Worcester, Lillian Eliza 5, b. Worcester, & J. George Rae 2, b. Worcester. John is a manager of a copper works. The family has one visitor: Catherine Haywood age 11 and one servant Eliza Emily Baynole age 14.
The photo album belonged to Robert J. Park who was in the U. S. by 1870 residing in Madison WI. Near by is W. J. Park 37 Merchant born in Scotland and his wife Maggie 31 b. Scotland. In 1870 they have the following children Allen G. 9 b. WI, Bennie 5, b. WI and Bessie 1 b. WI.
From the 1880 Census of Madison, Dane Co. WI: Robert was born ca 1831 in Scotland and is a house Carpenter. His wife is Ellen Park b. ca 1834 Scotland. Their children: Willie 16, born WI, Maggie 14, b. WI, Nellie 13, WI, George 11, b. WI, James 8, b. WI, & Ann 7, b. WI. By the mid 1880s this family has relocated to Milwaukee.
Most of the photos are not identified. There is one Rae family group shot with names and several Park photos with names. Happy to share them.
