I am searching for the father of MARY ELIZABETH RADFORD (b. 1892). Her death certificate lists JOHN RADFORD, born in Floyd Co., VA as her father.
MARY ELIZABETH Radford was born in 1892 (married SAMUEL EARL BENNETT, in 1916). She had a brother JAMES THOMAS (1896), a sister LURINDA/LUCINDA (May 1890) and DOLLY S. Radford (1895). In 1900 these children were all living with relatives in Burk's Fork - I'm assuming their parents were either deceased or had to give them up.
I have seen the 1890 Floyd Co.'s improvised census with the following names: (It did't say what relationship they were to each other):
Burk's Fork, Floyd Co., VA
George A. Radford, 16
John Radford, 20
Lurinda, 1 mo.
These were the only Radford's listed in Burk's Fork.
I believe the above mentioned Lurinda (1 month old) is Mary's sister and the John Radford (20) was her father. My question is who is he and where did he come from?
Does anyone have any knowledge of these Radfords that they can share?
