Hi Paula,

The two Ratliff brothers who were on the Trail of Tears
with their Cherokee wives
may have been from the Carolinas rather than Kentucky.
Also, the Trail of Tears took place in 1838, two years
earlier than the 1840 census where Peter's name is found.
Seems like your answer may be difficult in finding. I wish
you luck.

Perhaps you can find some more information in Telaquah,
Oklahoma records, the Siler Rolls, Dawes Rolls, etc.
