Having a real problem here researching my good friend's Radcliffe tree for him. Hope some of you can help.

My friend's grandfather, about whom he knew nothing before the research, is John Scott Radcliffe.

My research indicated the following:

Charles Radcliffe, b. 23 May 1780 Garrard, KY m. Elizabeth Vance (Lissabet Wentz), b. 11 Mar 1785 Virginia

Son David was born abt. 1830, Robert C. born Jan 1837, and daughter Roseann E. 1846. All in Indiana.

David's children, all b. Indiana, were:

William C. Radcliffe, b. abt. 1868
John Scott Radcliffe, b. abt. 1875
Irene B. Radcliffe, b. abt. 1879

I am pretty certain Elizabeth Vance is David, Robert, and Rose's mother because she is living with them in 1860, and her age & birthplace is right. However, she must have had these children in her 50's as I have a list of other children from the Wentzes that don't include these three.

Never could find the name of David's wife. Could she be the Elizabeth Brown that Judy McQuinn posted?

David disappears on me. So does Roseanna. His brother Robert can be found in Stampers Creek twp., Orange county, Indiana on the 1900 & 1910 censuses. This is the Radcliffe crowd that migrated Garrard, KY > Posey twp, Washington co., IN > various, Orange co., IN.

David's children: don't know where Irene went. John was in Steele twp., Daviess county, Indiana in 1880. Both William C. (wife Phoebe) and John Scott (wife Grace. T) are in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado by 1900.

John Scott Radcliffe, who seems to have gone by "Scott", had 8 children: Irene, Margaurite M, Frances, Paul M., Harold H., Lyle E., Vivian B., Isom Edward.

Paul, Harold, and Irene were put in the state industrial schools as preteens when they stole some horses. I know where Paul and Harold went. The rest of the family disappeared off the face of the earth! What happened?? Did find Isom in Dayton, Ohio.

Does anyone out there have anything they can fill in for me (us)? Sure would be appreciated... on behalf of another Radcliffe!
