STEPHEN RADCLIFF b. 1759 - Daughters' Marriages
Posted by: Gary Radcliffe Date: November 05, 2001 at 00:14:51

Found the following two marriages of two women who appear to be the daughters of Stephen Radcliff (c1759 - ????) s/o Daniel Stephen Radcliff (c1714-17??). Stephen was in Bourbon Co., KY living on land granted for service in Rev'y War:

Marriage dated 29 June 1800 in Bourbon Co., KY

John FARNEY and Elizabeth RADCLIFF

Consent by Stephen RADCLIFF, father.
Surety by Charles RADCLIFF, prob. uncle.
Witnessed by Jesse KING.

Marriage dated 2 Jan. 1787 in Bourbon Co., KY

Edward CROUCH to Sarah RADCLIFF

Benjamin had no dtr. named Sarah so she must have been dtr. of Stephen or even Charles. What was Charles doing in Bourbon Co? He did not serve in the war. There are 13 years between the birth of firstborn Sarah and next child, Elizabeth. Stillbirths, infant deaths?

The Crouch and Radcliff families were close, moving to Ohio at turn of century with other families.

Surety by David Unknown.
