Labron, Hi, I did find a post that listed several other children for Nathan and Nancy Mary Rackley. I was particularly interested in the fact that one was named Jonas Augustus and another was named Sarah Priscilla. I think that this points to the probable relationship with Jonas and Priscilla Chambers as the parents of Nancy Mary. If these were her parents, I question the information that says that she was born in New York. I think that it is much more likely that she was born in Maryland. I have found a birthdate for Jonas Chambers of 1742, and while I don't know where he was born, my 3great-grandmother Rachel Chambers was born in Maryland in 1767.
I am hoping to find someone from Nathan's family who can collaberate my findings. As to her having flaming red hair, I myself do have a very lovely auburn-haired daughter,though there are other sources within mine and my husband's families that may account for it. And the gaelic, I don't know, I guess it is possible. Another finding in Cecil Md was the will of David John in 1768 in which he named Jonas Chambers as an heir, saying he was the son of his sister Mary Chambers. The John family was probably of Welch origin.
