I believe I am a distant cousin to Rufus Rabon. My GGG-Grandfather, Jordan Rabon, was born around the same time as Rufus's father, Richard Rabon in Brunswick County, North Carolina. Richard and Jordan were very likely either brothers or cousins. While seeking information on Daniel T. Rabon (Jordan's son), in Henry County, Alabama, I was told to check the Poplar Springs Cemetery just east of Webb on Hwy. 52. I immediately found a Rabon family plot with the following graves: Elbert Rabon 1858-1930, Mindy Lee Rabon 1959-1973, Elmer E. Rabon 1923-1999, Ollie T. Rabon 1934-1999. I checked the Federal Census of 1860 for Dale County, Ala. to confirm Elberts birth date. In the census, his age was 2 years old - so must be the right Elbert.
