Good Day Cousin! Rufus & Sarah are my Great-Great-Grandparents. We have a bunch of stuff gathered, and are getting around to compiling it 'more-better'. Here's a very brief recap, but we have another cousin; Karin Bozeman (via the Johnson family, my GrandDad's wife's family). Karin works in N.Va. and has been researching geneology for a couple of decades (to the point that she is one of the recognized experts on Southeastern U.S. geneology... (some days are better than others ?) Here's another cousin, that kinda keeps the rest of us in touch--- BBowdenFan@aol.com---- Linda & I live in Huntsville, AL, but are moving to Tallahassee, so our email will be sporadic. PARTIAL RECAP of Sarah & Rufus Rabon: Elbert married Mary Coxwell Elbert & Marry lived near Dothan AL. and had 12 children. One, Rufus Elbert, married Carrabelle (Carrie) Johnson, had 3 children that lived to adulthood (Mallie; my deceased uncle, Mitchelle; my aunt, and BBowdenFan@aol.com 's Mom, & still living, and Willis Elbert; my deceased Dad). Rufus & Carrie moved to Chipley, FL in 1943? We seven cousins all graduated from Chipley High School; Myrtle, Brenda, Vivian, Karen, Rene, Michelle(BBowdenFan@aol.com), and myself, Willis Jr. One thing you may help us explore more is that GrandDaddy Rufus always told us that his grandmother (Sara, we're pretty sure, but not positive), was full blood Indian (Creek or Cherokee, we're not sure) The time period was during the Trail of Tears, so that may be why they moved down to the boonies (at that time) near Dothan, since it probably was not the best time to expound on your Native heretige.... ;-)... Do you have anything that might help us learn more? Best Regards, Willis
