I think we might have a contection. My Henry Rabe born
9 April 1816 possibably in Mieburg, Prussia, Germany,married
Dorothea Boeckmann. She was born and died there.She didn't
come to America with Henry and 5 of the 8 children.
Henry and siblings settled in Belle Plaine, Benton County,
Iowa.Their children were:
Henry, who stayed in Germany.But his son Fred came to America.
Frederick John Carl, my great grandfather,came to America.
Louis, came to America.wife,Dorothea Garloff or Gerloff.
Dorcas, came to America with 2 children, Charles and Anna.
William, came to America.
Marie Dorothea,married William J. Hils, they came to America.
Daughter, stayed in Germany and married Wolf.
Julia, stayed in married and stayed in Germany. They lost
everything, and didn't want to go to the poor house, so
they jumped into the sea.
