As Christiaan mentioned, the surname RAAB is common to Hungary. My great-great-grandfather Stephan Raab (for whom I am named) came from the town of Hniezdne, Hungary thru Ellis Island, NY in 1898. Hniezdne had changed hands several times over the years, and is now in Slovakia. Although I am not currently able to confirm familial ties yet, I know that a great number of Raabs left Hniezdne in the 1890's for the USA, many settling in the areas of Philadelphia, PA and New York City.

By the way - my branch of the RAAB family is Roman Catholic.
