Dear MaryAnn & All others in this research of the Quisenberry lines,
Since I'm adding my own branch of the Quisenberry line (Mary Jane Quisenberry who married John Marshall in Westmoreland Co. VA) and from there, Elizabeth (Betsy) Marshall was born, who married Samuel January abt. 1895 in KY, and I would like to add as many of the branches of the lines as I can and take each branch back and forward as far as I can, where should I start from this point?
Should I just get the direct line to the two Humphrey's that I've got in the tree and take it back to Europe that way, or should I begin to add each generation at a time to be sure that they are accurate, who married whom, etc.? This is what I have been doing thus far, adding information as I can verify it from family members who've been working at this and have the documents that prove the names and families, wills, land records, marriage, military records, etc..
If alot of you have this information and have it well documented, organized and proven, may I add your information as I can, and add onto the Master Family Tree that I'm working on here in Seattle? That would help save time in creating this.
MaryAnn, Thank You, your input is wonderful, and I've asked my local library to see if they can secure the A. C. Quisenberry books that you mention and the other books as well, to add to their Genealogical Reference books for Colonial American research purposes. I hope that they can do this and as soon as possible if the books are still available, but I didn't find them mentioned on a general search last night on Google, but I didn't have the names per se, either. I will see what I can find and how much, etc., and go from there.
This tree just keeps growing and growing, but that is good. While I'm adding names per week, I would love to duplicate me so that I can then do the actual record research needed to add to each name in the Master Tree. That's what I don't have the time to do too much and I need to add pictures as well if that is possible to make the people more alive and their histories more interesting.
To all of you reading this in this GenForum, thank you for your help with all of this and for your remarks. If I haven't replied as yet, don't worry, I'll get to you as soon as I can. Please be patient! MaryAnn, would you like to see what I've created thus far, not all documented as just mentioned, in Family Tree Maker? Let me know.
Since I know now that you've got your own tree going, you can see what I'm working on too. If not, that's fine too. Just FYI.
With Many Thanks to All of You,
