Quisenberry Family Genealogy Forum

Good morning Betty, I am related, though I'm still working backwards one generation at a time. Since many of my relatives are gone, it's slow going. I also do not have all of my paperwork in front of me this instant to tell you from which side of my family I'm related to them, but I believe that it is from my mother's side of the family as that is what I've found the most information on at the moment. I'm still trying to find my father's side of the tree branches as I work backwards. To make a long story short, due to all the generations of family, it eventually works it way back to several European countries: the British Isles, Germany, France, and the perhaps Switzerland too; I'm still working on all of it, so please forgive me right now for being so vague, but it is like 5am here Pacific Time where I live. My mother was born Louie Annie January in 1918; her dad was born in Texas and her mother was an Andrews born in AL. The January's (Janvier/Janveries, and the spellings go from there once you get back into European history married different people in their travels around the world. What I understand from family history, is that some of our relatives were French Heugenots, one of whom fell in love with a Scottish Countess and lost all of his lands and wealth when the French king confiscated them and banned him and others in a similar situation to an island somewhere and they eventually sailed over to Philadelphia I believe in the late 1680's. I grew up hearing stories that we were related the royals of the British Isles, but no one knows whether this is true or not. So I'm working on the families genealogy and trying to go slowly and find as many facts/verifications as I work backwards. I haven't even gotten close to the Quisenberry lineage as yet, but I know that it does show up from Europe from what I'm researching.
I feel that there is perhaps a name spell error at some point, as I'm already finding spouses in some of the lineages, who are linked with more than one of the husbands of two different relatives in the lines, and I doubt that that is the case, so that is why I'm trying to find whatever i can about each of the descendants and find verification. I'm still working on the "Andrews" line of my grandmother in AL and other southern states, who was the one who said that we are related to the royals of the British Isles. So I'm about in the 1800s in some of the family line and further on other of the branches of the tree as I can find the records and post them. Her husband, my grandfather's family was related to the French lineage. I have some of the paperwork for them, but haven't yet had time to post it to my Family Tree or to my One World Tree either. Anyway, I know that it comes from one of the branches of my mother's line. Best Regards, Roger
