I'm finding the first name Pierce frequently among the Quirks who went to Wisconsin. These include Pierce Quirk and wife Mary Cleary or Clary who immigrated in 1849 and were in Dover, Racine County, in 1850-1870. Does this Pierce Quirk connect to John C. Quirk of Beetown, Grant County, Wis., and later Grant County, South Dakota? It seems likely since that John had at least two grandsons named Pierce, one surnamed Quirk, the other Cahill. Wish correspondence with descendants of Pierce Quirk of Racine County.
