This is definitely the right family. I know David was my mary janes brother. I have his picture and it is labled 1913 David, son david, wife lucy and cherokee. My mary Jane was married in 1876 at age 14. I cant find this family in 1860 or 70 so I cant find her. David wrote letters to the family about his sons david and leonard. I know she stayed in arkansas so I dont expect to find her on the rolls. There is a family story, that she and her husband left scott county arkansas to go sign up, and they were attacked and possibly she was raped. They turned around and went home. This elzira Johnson is the correct one. I would appreciate any help that you could give. Thank you.
