Jean, I have another land deed from Mena AR (hand written from Deed Book J pg 508).It was also written Nov. 1873 where George M. Winton and wife, Martha Jane and Jackson Lowther and wife, Mary Ann, are signing (as heirs and legatees of the estate of Nathaniel Quinton) land to Joel S. Quinton.(I have found Joel's name switched around..at different times.. Joel S. and also Samuel J.)Still no record of Nathaniel's family.I believe his wife's name was Rebecca (1860 census).I have found NOTHING on either of them since except the 1863 land transfer that Nathaniel signed. She must have died with no children.
This deed had been filed with my George M. Winton papers.I wanted something in the Winton file to prove great grandmother's name, so had not put it with the Quinton documents.I simply overlooked it when I sent the other info to you.
I'm going to Mena, AR Sept. 6-8 for a QUINTON search.Hope I am successful.Doyleen
