John Fletcher of Washington Co., AR was married to a Malinda Price 1835 (source: Fletcher genforum)--it sure does seem a little strange that William D. and a John Fletcher in Washington Co., AR are there at the same time.
My main problem is I don't know if my Mary E. was orphaned by one or both parents.LDS has her 1839 birth Lincoln Co., Ky with father, John Fletcher, no mother's name. The 1883 bio, she states she is a native of Lincoln Co., Ky.At this point, I don't know what to believe--the bio information, or the 1833 Casey Co. John Fletcher/Leana Quinton marriage information. There are lots of John Fletchers in Ky around the mid 1800's which really makes searching difficult to say the least.
To complicate matters, there are two Fletcher families in l850 Boyle--I've searched on both families but the question that keeps coming to my mind is the Margaret Quinton, guardian in Mary's 1857 Danville marriage.I don't know a lot about guardian records but did read where a mother cannot be the guardian of her own children with the death of the father.
