I just recently came upon this website when i did a search on google.com under my last name. Anywho, I am from El Salvador, I was born there in 1975 in Aguilares San Salvador, a few miles south of the Capitol.
My father was Jose Luis Quintanilla Erazo. I don't know much more than that, he got killed in 1980, and unfurtunately he did not leave a picture of himself. He was a good dad, and I was very much affected by his genuine love for me. However, I was brought to the US when I was eight, and I have been living here since.
I always wondered where my last name came from, what it meant, and this website about my last name has come as a blessing.
As a side note, my father was white skinned, brownish-blonde hair, and grey-blue eyes. I wondered always about my grandparents and who they were, and other family members living in El Salvador or here. I am basically the only Quintanilla that I know, I remember meeting an Aunt with some cousins when I was six, but I never stayed in touch. I always thought that some may have migrated to the US during the civil war or before.
My father I think came from a town called "Sonsonate" but I'm not sure.
Anyway, it's nice to hear someone is from over there, I wonder if I am related to any of you from the El Salvador area. I would love to know more.
