The rather murky family history passed down from my mother indicated that on her father's side, one of the women was "an indian". Up to this point, I thought that the reference was to "native North American". I wonder if it meant "from India".
My Great Great Grandmother was Exilia Quintal. She was likely born in the mid-1800s in Quebec Province. Her father was Michel Quintal, her mother was Julie L'Herault.
If anyone has information on Exilia, Michel or Indian roots for the Quintal's, I'd be grateful. Thank you.
