Hi Jill

I'm sorry, I think that we are not talking about the same James Quinney. His Quinneys & mine were agricultural labourers living aroung the borders of Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. The villages of Great Bourton, Little Bourton, Croprdy, Banbury, Neithrop and Mollington more or less define the area of their lives throughout the 19th century. James Quinney, the illegitimate son of Catherine Quinney, had a number of jobs but was a shepherd in Neithrop when the century turned.

The David with whom I was in touch was the grandson of one of the younger brothers of Edith Caroline Quinney, my maternal grandmother.

What a shame! We both might have gained from a connection, but it was not to be!

Good luck with your futre research.

Kind regards

Malcolm Bland
