Hello Harvey: I can't see how Cecelia was B 1862 when her father was born in 1861 and mother in 1871. I will assume Ceclia's DOB is totally incorrect and focus on the parents. I also will assume that their DOB are 100% accurate. I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,800,000 surviving rcds for abt 70% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Cos. Donegal and Derry were recently added to the database. Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 30%. Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database. Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome). For Pat(rick) Quinn B 1861 (exact) somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 34 rcds - too many to easily summarize here. For Mary Hughes B 1871 ditto, I found 55 rcds - again too many. NONE had a middle name of "Mamie." Note - middle names were not generally rcd'd on parish registers until later in the century. You will need DDMMYY DOB, parent(s) name(s), and/or placename(s) to pick which, if any are for these ancestors. SOMETIMES father's forenames can be inferred by examining the forenames given to offspring. (Google "Irish Naming Tradition" for the details. For Cecelia, verify the DOB (actually verify all DOB). Also, it would REALLY help if you knew whether they married in Ireland or not. Repost this info along with your original message to my post if you want more help. Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg. Hope this helps. Good luck.
