Ron,
I have had a good result looking on www.bytown.net for my immigrants to Canada from Ireland. My Quinn's are a Thomas Quinn and Ellen McHugh (or possible variant spellings) Quinn who may have been born in Ireland but who arrived in Canada about 1847 and who were established and living in Templeton, Quebec by the time of their son --who was born in summer of 1829 in Ireland--Michael's 1853 marriage to Mary Maloney.
