I have no further info but additional newspaper extracts may be found at URL: <http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/index.php> Vern D ////////////////////////////////// Transcribed by Dee Sardoch; <deesar@frontiernet.net> ////////////////////////////////// Stockton Daily Independent Stockton, San Joaquin Co., CA ************************* >>SATURDAY, 25 OCT 1862<< ACCIDENTS -- The Sonora 'Flag' of Thursday has the following: -On Tuesday last a miner named Thomas QUINN was killed on Mormon Creek under the following circumstances: The deceased and another man were engaged working on the bank by the side of the creek; during the temporary absence of the other man, a mass of dirt fell upon the legs of QUINN in such a way as to prevent his extricating himself, and at the same time the dirt stopping the water in the creek to such an extent that the unfortunate man was drowned before his partner was aware of the accident. The deceased was a native of Ireland, about 28 years of age. Notify Administrator about this message?
