Thanks for the posting!
William H Quinn was a Navy Captain or Commander who lived near Glenavy in Antrim County, Northern Ireland and he had childrenwho attended school there. He retired to Canada about 1841 with his family.About 1842, he agreed with the Canada Company to settle on N 1/2 , Lot 23, Percy Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. Sometime later, he secured a grant of land in Dummer Township.
William Quinn died in 1850, perhaps in Dummer Township. His wife Elizabeth Saunders died in 1863. They are buried in Norwood Cemetery.
I received this information from a very sharing cousin and would appreciate knowing more about this family, so that I can return the favour.
I did find an IGI on an Elizabeth Saunders born March 1, 1802 and Christened at Kirkwall and St. Ola, Orkney , Scotland. Batch # C110212. There were siblings James, Agnes, William, Mary, Rebecca and Rachael as well.
Also there is an IGI for her parents, Daniel Saunders and Barbara Peace who were married on November 18, 1801 at Kirkwall and St. Ola, Orkney, Scotland. Batch # M110212
I hope this helps.
