Doris (Quinn) Campbell Mason OBIT
DORIS CAMPBELL MASON 86, a wonderful, loving Mother and friend has left us following a lengthy illness at Eaglewood Care Center. She was born May 22, 1918, the daughter of Nora and Dennis Quinn. She resided in Clark County all her life, graduating from Moorefield School in 1936, then continued on to Springfield Business College, graduating in 1938. She worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base until her husband returned home from World War II in 1945; she then decided to stay home and raise a family, returning to work in 1970 and retiring in 1987 from F. F. Mueller Residential Center. She worked for T. Wayne (Carol) Lawhorn, director and they remained good friends the rest of her life. She married J. Douglas Campbell I in 1938 and they were married for 25 years, until his untimely death in 1965. In 1978 she married Clifford Mason, Jr. and they were married until his death in 1998. A child of the "Great Depression", she loved making something out of nothing, refinishing furniture and gardening. When she was a young mother, she would take her children to the woods to go mushroom hunting. She taught us about the trees, flowers and animals. Now we realize what a wonderful gift she has given us. For that we are so thankful. In her elderly years she loved to read and bird watch. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her daughter, Marilyn (Roy) Riley; a son, John D. Campbell; three grandchildren, Alisha (Robert) Wagner, Jayson (Jan) Sturgeon and Sarah C. Campbell; a great-grandson, Maxwell J. Sturgeon; a great granddaughter, Megan Wagner; step-grandchildren; Theresa (Chris) McAtee, Cheryl Jacobs, Mindy (Tom) Conrad and Lori (Larry) Saunders; step-great-grandchildren; Carrie, Joseph, Daniel, and Mary McAtee, Maddie and Kiersten Conrad, Megan Saunders, Braden Stookey, Christian Sanders and Riley and Reese Cochran. A special friend, Kathy Stookey. Her parents, two brothers Jack and Gene Quinn and a great-granddaughter, Kristen M. Sturgeon, preceded her in death. She was a member of Columbus Avenue United Methodist Church for over 60 years and served on various boards there.
