hope this can give you some info, have more books to go through, but here is a little!Whitrudge, William E, died at Sorento, Florida May 8 1891,of enlargement of the liver, age 57. At one time engaged in book and stationery business in Eaton, Ohio with W. D Quinn, the store was destroyed by fire and about 1859 removed to Greencastle, Indiana, as aagent for American Express and also engaged in the stationery trade. In the fall of 1861, he and his brother Henery( who died at Rock Island, Illonois a few months ago), enlisted as privates at Camp Vigo. Co H 43rd Indianan Volunteers and he became Captain of his company. Was adjutant to Col. Wm McLean of the 43rd.Taken prioioner, both boys were taken to Tyler Texas, and confined, but Capt. Whitridge and three comarades escaped and started for Little Rock. Henery was without shoes and could not accompany them. After42 days through swamps and thicket, subsisting on whatever could be picked up in the woods, they arrived in Little Rock, half starved, ragged. After resting a short time, Capt Whitridge went back to Indiana and was discharged. After the war, he obtained a position in the Office of theCincinnati Comercial and stayed until his health failed, moving to Florida a few years ago. Twice married, his last wife died a few years ago. First wife was Sarah Revel of Eaton who bore him 2 children, Victor and Edith, both survive. A sister, Mrs Andrew Hiesstand also survives.
Aten, Margaret, born near Wrightsborough, Columbia County, Georgia, October 26, 1797, died at Round Rock, Williamson County, Texas on October 3,1891. Daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Quinn, sister ofGen. John and Robert Quinn. Came to Ohio in 1809, married Peter Aten about 1829 and he died in about1843, leaving her with 3 sons. Moved to Peoria , Ill in 1849, then to Texas in 1877. Has 2 sons in Texas and one in Tennesee. Buried at Round Rock. Last of the family of brothers and sisters Husband buried at Mound Hill nearly 50 years ago.
Quinn, Walter S., died at the home of his parents in Eaton, Ohio March 6,1892, age 7 years, 4 months, 25 days.
Quinn, Carrie Berenica, daughter of R W and the late Josephine M, born in Eaton April 30, 1872, died March 30,1892. Mother died when she was 15 and she took over the household duties.
Quinn, Mrs James H, dies at her home in Gishen Twp, Stark County, Ill, December 19,1891, only child of Jacob and Ann Fall, born in Eaton,November 17,1835. Married July 16, 1851,moved to Stark County in 1856. Had 4 sons and 2 daughters, one is Mrs Baker living in Nebraska.
Poffenbarger, Harry C, second son of John and Leulla, agenearly 3, died at the home of his parents in Bellevue, Kentucky, March 6,1892 of diphtheria. Mrs. Poffenbarger is the daughter of Joseph Quinn.
Quinn, William, died at the home of John Cassel near Camden, May 22,1892. Born at Zanesville, Ohio, March 27, 1814, came to Cincinnati early. Buried at Eaton.
Quinn, Mrs Louisa, wife of John K, died at the home of her son, Nelson, July 30,1894 age 75 years, 3 months, 6 days. Born near Eaton,April, April,24,1819, daughter of Phillip and Hannah Hewitt. Married June 25, 1840.Leaveshusband, sister and one son. Buried Mound Hill. Member of Christian church since 1839.
Burson, Grace Amanda Quinn born September 7, 1873 in Eaton, died November 28,1895. Married December 12,1894 to Frank Burson. Child was born the day of mother’s death.
