Your connection with Unicy R. Quinn and A. Glover Weathers matches the youngest child of my ancestor Martin Quinn.
E.10.Martin Quinn was born in South Carolina December 4, 1803; died in Cleveland County, North Carolina, October 17, 1842, aged 39 years,16 buried in Hugh Quinn, Martin Roberts, and Michael Borders Cemetery four miles south of Shelby, NC (3/4 mile south of Hardin Cemetery).12
He married first July 6, 1825, Mary May Ellis, "Polly", daughter of Elizabeth Wood and John Ellis, Jr. (1761-1831).Polly was born October 23, 1807; died October, 1861.(See Ellis Chapter).
He married second Unicy (?).25She was born in 1808; died [possibly in childbirth] in NC May 13, 1843;25 aged 35; buried next to Martin in Quinn, Roberts, Borders Cemetery.12
Martin was the first Postmaster of Swangstown (Patterson Springs). The postoffice was established November 4, 1831.His brother-in-law James Roberts became postmaster November 14, 1838.26
He entered 100 acres of land situated on the waters of Shoal Creek, Rutherford County, NC, adjoining land of Hugh Quinn, Benjamin Hardin, and Edward Ripy, for complement on January 15, 1834, in the Land Entries, Rutherford County, NC.22
He was listed in the 1830 NC Census in Rutherford County as Martin Quinn with 3 Males under 5 (John, A.W., and S.M.); 1 male 20 to 30 (Martin, 27); 1 female 20 to 30 (Polly, 23); 2 male slaves under 10; 1 female slave under 10; 1 female slave 10 to 24.
Martin was appointed administrator of his father's estate (his older brothers Hugh III, Morris, and John had previously moved to Georgia), but died before the estate was settled. That is why Martin was not mentioned in the final settlement.
In February 1844 Guardian's Court, Richard Champion, Clerk of Court, was appointed guardian of Martin's children.26
He and Mary had four children:
