Quinlivans - Lissycasey
Posted by: David Griffin Date: November 29, 2001 at 14:11:03

Hi,

My Quinlivans were from the townland of Decomade (Parish of Clondagad) which is very close to Lissycasey.

So far I have traced as far back as my gg grandfather who was a Patrick Quinlivan from Decomade. Do not know when Patrick was born, but I know he died before 1882. His son Michael married Bridgit Sexton from Decomade in 1882 and they went on to have eight children (including my grandmother Belinda Quinlivan.)

The Griffiths Valuation of 1855 includes two Quinlivans in Decomade, namely the aforementioned Patrick and a Michael Quinlivan who I suspect might have been either his father or brother, however, no evidence as yet.

I have extracted info on Quinlivan's from the Clondagad Parish register and other sources.

Please let me know if this connects with anyone.

Regards.

David.
